If you're new to the Warhammer universe (or just like Warhammer books) I recommend the two official Warhammer Online: Age Of Reckoning books Empire In Chaos and Dark Storm Gathering. They're a good way to get to know the world a bit and get you started.

If you happen to be playing Dark Elves (like me) I can also recommend the Malus Darkblade books.

I have not read the official WAR novels so can't say anything about them but I agree on the Malus Darkblade books. To add to the list with books that I have read and really liked Riders of Death is very good and the Witch Hunter series are also a more then worthwhile read. I you are purely after background information and like chaos I can recommend Liber Chaotica. I would also advise you to buy the pen and paper role playing books rather then the army books if you are looking for background information (and if you can get one on the army/subject you like). http://www.lexicanum.com/ is a very good site if you want to look up things from the warhammer lore.

Been avoiding those because of the cheezy covers Tongue (yes I'm that shallow), you're saying they're good?

Just finished the Witch Hunter book (the collection) a few days ago, excellent stuff, recommended.

I started reading Nagash the Sorcerer now, it's also very good. Also great for all of you who want to know some more lore and background on the land of the dead.

All the Times of legends books are good, Nagash, Heldhammer and Melekith. They explains a lot and are really worth reading.

Mark of Chaos was good to your following a bunch of guys and in the end all the story's get together really nice.

Blood for the Blood God was well.... alright I guess... If you really like chaos you might like it....

Which Hunter series was really good, recommended

The Vampire Genive series is really good but a bit confusing you lose track of the time it plays out in. But I guess that's a side effect of the main character being a vampire. Haven't finish't it yet its on ice at the moment... Gonna pick it up some day....

Malus Darkblade series are.... well... AWESOME!

This are the ones I strongest recall reading, Got tons of WH and WH 40k books... Mostly WH 40k usually find them more a peeling. Though Malus Darkblade series is probably one of the best one I have read  Smiley
